Book Arts Fair

Today started with a trip to Salvation Army thrift store in Astoria where a couple of good bargains were found by all. This was followed by a burrito for a late lunch and then, the highlight, going to MoMA's PS1 Book Art Fair. The show begins with a tent full of artists selling their books then head inside to see the less zine-y books including some very rare (and very expensive) pieces. (see the Warhols!) A couple of my favourites are Jennie Hinchcliff's mail art work and Edie Fake of Gaylord Pheonix. Stupidly I did not bring any money so couldn't buy any of these fabulous books which means a re-visit tomorrow and to see the rooms I didn't have time to see. A more detailed post will be up then. http://nyartbookfair.com/about.php
